ok found the hostd log and the have VMware.log however, I think the VMware.log does not contain the data as the failure happened yesterday. The log before that has the correct timestamp but it's 300MB in size. I retrieved the host log by browsing to the host in a web browser and did the same for the vm log.
If I try and paste the information into the browser it crashes. 
Is there any way for me to upload the log somewhere ?
