Q1.You should enable visualization features on your physical server BIOS. It's possible, you can run 64 bit VMs on virtual ESXi host.
Q2. For prevent the same issues, you should use EVC on your cluster, by this feature, you can migrate your virtual machines to hosts with different CPU family not CPU brand!!!
