I notice the Essentials Kit has an 8-way cpu limitation.
With Essentials Kit, if I have 2 x 8 core CPUs for the VM host, can I assign 12 cpus to a VM guest or will the VM guest be limited to 8 cpus?
With ESXi 5 free, vCPU limit is 32. Does that mean a max of 32 cpus can be assigned to VM guest?

I have floating desktop (5.2) and refresh when they log off too.
But I don't think refresh was the issue for me but recompose was.
We have 5 remote offices and each has their own default network printer. Not to mention in the main office we have 3 main network printers that the users could choose. Every time I recomposed a new image, their default printer will all reset to the one that the master image was defaulted to.
OR
When the users logged on from somewhere remote (home or hotel) using their home pc or tablet when there are no local or network printer is available, the default printer will get reset to something like "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" or "Adobe PDF" or "Send To OneNote 2010", etc. Therefore when they are back in the office and logged on to their pc or zero client, they will have to reset the default network printer back to the printer of their choosing manually.
Is your situation a bit similar to ours when you're doing your testing with ThinPrint uninstalled from the agent?

Our issue was resolved. It appeared in our shared Dev Sql Server, someone changed the default RSA_USER's account password. We've create a new account with same permissions and updated this account within the upgrade and it worked. Someone had used the same default script which in turns modifies the same information (database, user, etc.) Fortunately we had created a separate database before hand.
Note to self: Update the SQL scripts that the SSO installation provides with the user accounts "RSA_USER" and "RSA_DBA" to something more like "SSODEVUSER" and "SSODEVDBA".

Me again - sorry. I think we are close. I am now stuck on resolving the workloads in my tiles.
- I am doing a partial tile, and I have excluded the standby/ deploy/ exchange related tests.
I have configured the host files for the workload VMs as well as the prime client, and I am able to ping each workload in the tile by name.
- I have stuck with the recommended naming convention
I have attached my host file from the primeclient as well as the associated results file, and my vmark config file - everything is in the zip file.
It's weird because initially, I did have the workload names spelled wrong initially in the config file - forgot to put the 0 at the end of each name. But I fixed that, and the correct name is showing up in the error stating that it cannot be resolved so it looks like it got the config file change.

Hey man, I got through the sVmotion issue. The config file had an entry for the sVmotion target and I set it to one of my workloads. I just submitted a new thread about getting resolution errors out of the harness. I have verified my host file, config file, and am able to successfully ping all workloads from the prime client so I am not sure what the issue is there. I am still digging through it, but we can resume that chat on the new thread.

We current have an ESXI 5.0 setup and two Dell R710's that are the hosts. This morning we wanted to migrate one of our servers to a different host and also change the data store location. The process went fine until 99% (where it reported it was doing a cleanup after the migration) and then I lost access to my Vcenter console. I can access the first host as well as all of the VMs. I am unable to connect to the second host or the main Vcenter console that controls all HA features and manages the host cluster. Odd thing is that 4 of the 5 VMs are up and opertational without issue. My concern is that I currently cannot get into the cluster, etc. What would be my first steps towards resolving this to regain control?
I was thinking to shut down all Guests on both hosts and then to reboot the hosts, but I am not sure if this will restore the items and allow me access, nor do I want to do anything to further the issues. I am still a basic VMWare user, so please be patient.

This is generally a permissions issue associated with the collector account being used, not necessarily with the logged in user account. When you browse to the RS site, you're using passthrough auth from the logged in windows user. This is not how SSRS authentication is working in the console. Can you take a screenshot of what the STAX window is displaying during the failure? I'm not understanding exactly what you mean by resolving the workloads in your tiles and I don't see anything in your results folder.
For your next run please also set 'DEBUGLFAG=1" in your VMMARK2.config as well.
You need to edit the rsreportserver.config file under Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLServer\Reporting Services\ReportServer.
Find the Authentication section and remove the <RSWindowsNTLM/> and <RSWindowsNegotiate/> entries. Replace these with an <RSWindowsBasic/> entry.
This change takes effect as soon as you save the file.
Alternatively, if you don't want to use Basic authentication, you can configure Kerberos. This is documented in the installation guide. It's a bit of an involved process.
You can take the exam before you take the class but you will not be a VCP until attendance in the required course is complete
